..to this!
Oh yeah bah beh!
Went from 0-2 mm tread life to about 4mm
100% true baller status!
El Moose has been riding on very bad tires for the last 3 months. Cords showing on 2 of them and slicks on the others.
A customer here purchased 4 new Pirelli Scorpion Verdes today for their ride and their old tires were bad indeed, but waaaay better than what I had on my Moose.
I’ll get some new rubber some time next year for sure but these should be ok til then.
The Z4..... you don’t even want to see those. Dat 2.5° spec rear camber, yo!

That first pic, holy cow you’d die driving up north in the snow or rain with those. :O Those “new” ones aren’t that bad though! :)

Hey my car’s name used to be Moose, specifically Mitsy the black moose. A suitable name for a black AWD Sedan.
Also this makes me not feel so bad for rocking my 60 dollar Cooper winter tires year round.

Off topic: I got an email today from car2go. They’re retiring thier Smart fleet. So, there may be deals to be had soon on those cars.

I sold some nearly worn out bridgstons to this dude for $50, he was stoked. His uncle had a tire shop so mount and balance was free, otherwise they were going to the dump.

Old ones look like they were Falken Ziex models, I’d guess the ZE512. “New” ones are, what, Goodyear Assurances?
I may or may not work in a job where I can recognize tires by tread pattern...
Also, hope you can get some newer/better/less-worn ones soon. 4/32" is where I replace, because Midwest.

That is correct! They’ve been retiring the Car2Go fleet since 2015, flooding the used smart market with extremely low mile cars (many under 1,000 miles) going for criminally low prices.
Now, with Car2Go folding entirely, the used smart market is going to basically crash with way too many new-ish low mile cars.
If I get a Car2Go model, I’d spring for the EV version, which I’ve seen going for about $5k with about 1,000 miles.

Hey EL_ULY, do you have any oppopinions about Southwest Automotive as a Volvo shop? I looked at you guys as well, but they seem to be substantially cheaper on CV axle replacement (though surprisingly somewhat more expensive on timing belt replacement), so I’m thinking about going there.

You’re going have to start piling them on each other to fit them all in your garage.

Southwest Automotive is our #1 buyer of parts. They are extremely professional and basically a mini Volvo service department. The only difference between them and a Volvo dealership is the ability to do warranty work on brand new cars and a much cheaper labor rate. If you go there, tell Johnny you know Ulysses :]
I can also get you my employee deal on the parts if you buy it here with me then take it to SW Auto to save a just a wee bit more.
I just did a CV axle on my Moose. It was really stuck in there lol. Good thing we have the special tools here for just in case they seize up.

I would have kept driving with the 2 that looked like that one but not with passengers. The other 2 had the cords showing
